Vittoria Cicaloni

Graduated with honors in Medicinal Chemistry, Department of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmacy (University of Siena) with a thesis: “Towards an integrated interactive database for the search of stratification biomarkers in Alkaptonuria” and after Professional Pharmacy Qualification in 2016, she received a PhD degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in February 2020 (thesis: “An integrated bioinformatics digital ecosystem platform for a rare disease to address –omics challenges in Precision Medicine”). The PhD training took place at the Department of Excellence (2018-2022) of Biotechnology, Chemistry and Pharmacy (University of Siena), Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences (TLS) and Melbourne University, Bio21 Institute. She has been working as Bioinformatician Research Scientist at Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences (TLS), Siena, since 2019. PhD project and current research studies are focused on the application of a Precision Medicine approach to rare diseases, proteomics and metabolomics data analysis, development of integrated databases and algorithms for patient stratification. The multidisciplinary scientific background and continuous collaborations between academic and industrial environments allowed to range from different competences confirmed by more than 25 papers on international scientific journals (for the full list see here). She is included in the National Register of Italian Excellence by Ministry of Education, University and Research.
