Alua Kabdolova

In 2020, Alua Kabdolova has obtained her Bachelor of Sciences (BSc) Diploma in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Strasbourg, France, having competed her final year via Erasmus program at the University of York, UK. During her final year, she performed a 6-months BSc research project at the team of Dr. Ville-Petri Friman, studying antimicrobial resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and how to overcome it using the bacteria-specific bacteriophages in synergy with conventional antibiotics. Furtherly, Alua came back to the University of Strasbourg to continue with the Master of Sciences (MSc) in Immunology and Inflammation. During her first year of MSc, she performed two laboratory internships at the local Faculty of Pharmacy and the Institute de Genetique et Biologie Moléculaire (IGBMC). She later decided to pursue her experience in pre-clinical research, moving to Siena, Italy, to join the Tumour Immunology. Alua’s project is currently focused on dissecting the regulation of the immune checkpoint receptor LILRB4/ILT3 in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Interested in biomedical research, she now is striving to contribute to the development of clinical approaches against human diseases and pathologies.
