Assunta Gagliardi

Assunta Gagliardi earned her Bachelor Degree in Biological Sciences in 2007 and Master Degree in Molecular Biology in 2009 at the University of Siena. In 2013 then she earned her PhD degree in Biotechnology at the University of Siena. During her Master’s and PhD thesis internships, Dr. Gagliardi gained experience in several Proteomics methodologies and technologies and in Bioinformatics. Indeed, her main research activity focused on Functional Proteomics investigations of protein expression profiles of various biological samples under particular conditions, physiological and non-physiological. From 2014 to 2017, Dr. Gagliardi was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Siena focusing on the study of a rare genetic disease, the Osteogenesis Imperfecta, always by means of Functional Proteomics. From 2017 to 2020, Dr. Gagliardi held a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Trento with work also displaced at the University of Siena and Toscana Life Sciences Foundation and during this period she worked within the European Advanced ERC project “Outer Membrane Vesicles (OMVs) from Vaccinobacter (OMVAC): a synthetic biology approach for effective vaccines against infectious diseases and cancer” expanding her scientific knowledge and building experience in microbiology and immunobiology. Since 2020 she is a Researcher at Toscana Life Sciences Foundation and has been working within the European Advanced ERC project “Cancer Vaccines and Gut Microbiome: a rational approach to optimise cancer immunotherapy (VACCIBIOME)”.
