Through the UVaR Office, TLS collaborates with the Sector of Research and investments in the health sector within the Directorate of Health, Welfare and Social Cohesion of the Region of Tuscany. This collaboration aims at structuring an integrated and synergetic research and innovation system in a coordinated context comprising universities and regional university hospitals. UVaR is mainly committed to assessing, monitoring and enhancing the results of research in terms of applicability and transferability. This activity supports university hospitals and other regional health service institutions, universities and Tuscan public research organizations, to develop and leverage their innovation and technology transfer capacities, also through the creation of collaboration channels with companies and other stakeholders operating in the life sciences sector. TLS also supports the Directorate of Health, Welfare and Social Cohesion in defining regional strategies and actions to attract investments to the regional territory, also based on the objectives of European programs: generating excellent science, promoting industrial leadership and innovating to meet societal challenges.
