REGIONS4PERMED
General Aspects
The health systems’ transformation from reactive treatment models to predictive and preventive systems, hence the implementation of the personalized medicine paradigm, requires cooperation and coordination among different stakeholders and European programs, such as Member States and, above all, regions, with the aim of building an integrated action plan to foster innovation in this field.
The project, based on technical dialogue with pre-eminent international experts, has already involved more than 30 regions and will deal with important concepts, from big data, AI and electronic medical records to telemedicine and innovative procurement. The aim is to identify the biggest obstacles to full development of personalized medicine and indicate which investments (including joint investments at interregional level) could be activated.
Regions4Permed has a duration of 4 years and a budget of 1.7 million euros.
