BORNTOGEtTHERe

General aspects
Despite progress in high risk maternity management, Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the most common cause of physical disability in infants.
The main goal of BORNTOGEtTHERe Project is the implementation of early detection and early intervention service delivery in infants at risk for cerebral palsy to promote infants’ psychomotor development and maternal health, through the development of the first clinical practice guidelines in Europe, in low-income countries and among hard-to-reach populations.
The project involves 9 international partners from Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, Georgia, Sri Lanka and Australia, has a duration of 4 years and an assigned budget of 4,195,000 euros

Project’s activities
Project’s activities are about the optimization of health programs adapted for:

- early detection of Cerebral Palsy through the implementation of a specific transnational strategy in more than 500 newborns with CP;
- early monitoring of related alterations and functional limitations of newborns with CP and therefore programming of individualized interventions aimed at preventing second-level complications;

- early intervention in infants with CP, improving the outcomes of both children and caregivers.

In particular, TLS thanks to UVaR office will be the Intellectual Property Manager of the project, supporting all the partners in the evaluation and protection of intellectual property.
