Virginia Gazziero
Virginia Gazziero gained her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnologies in 2020 from the University of Insubria (Varese). She then moved to the University of Trieste, where she completed the Master’s degree in Functional Genomics in 2023. During the master’s thesis (under the supervision of Prof. Manfioletti and Dr. Piazza), she developed an interest in bioinformatics and computational biology applied to the field of cancer research. After her master’s, she spent several months as a research fellow in the Laboratory of Data Engineering at Area Science Park in Trieste.
Currently Virginia is a PhD student in Applied Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University of Trieste in collaboration with Toscana Life Sciences, co-supervised by Prof. G. Caravagna and Dr. A. Kabanova. Her main project focuses on studying the implication of copper biology in evolution of chronic lymphocytic leukemia by using machine learning and statistical analysis.
