Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE)
Tuscany Health Ecosystem (THE) is one of the 11 innovation ecosystems funded at the national level under Italy’s PNRR and the only one entirely dedicated to the life sciences sector.
The project’s primary objective is to foster, support and strengthen the growth of the life sciences ecosystem in Tuscany through a multidisciplinary approach, high-level specialist expertise, cross-fertilisation of technologies and knowledge, and effective collaboration among researchers, clinicians and industry stakeholders.
THE aims to address the sector’s innovation and training needs, supporting the consolidation of the regional ecosystem and enhancing its competitiveness at regional, national and international level. The ecosystem focuses on advanced radiotherapy and oncology diagnostics, preventive and predictive medicine, advanced technologies, methods and materials for human health and wellbeing, nanotechnologies for diagnosis and therapy, health and wellbeing implementation and innovation, precision medicine and personalised healthcare, translational medicine innovation, biotechnology and imaging in neuroscience, robotics and automation for healthcare, and population health.
Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences supports the ecosystem through technology transfer activities, entrepreneurship and start-up support, regulatory assistance, dissemination initiatives and partnering activities.
