Matteo Ridelfi

Matteo graduated in Biotechnology at the University of Parma in December 2019 with a thesis aimed at the molecular characterization of 4 different cell lines of epithelioid sarcoma to define their adequacy as an in vitro model of the disease.
He continued his studies at the same university, obtaining a Master's Degree in Genomic, Molecular and Industrial Biotechnologies defending an experimental thesis carried out within the MAD-Lab in Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences under the supervision of Dr. Claudia Sala.
Here he worked on the “New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase-producing (NDM) Klebsiella pneumoniae” project focusing on the generation and characterization of constitutively fluorescent K. Pneumoniae strains.
These were then used to set up a new fluorescence-based high-throughput assay to harness the bactericidal potency of monoclonals antibodies isolated by the MAD-Lab team.
Since November 2021, Matteo has been a PhD student in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Siena and he is part of the laboratory of Dr. Rino Rappuoli in Fondazione Toscana Life Sciences.
