According to Coldiretti, the food counterfaiting damages the italian market for about 6 billions euro/Year. This amount doesn’t include the “Italian Sounding” products which have a turnover of further 54 billions euro.

As far as the the wine and olive oil market is concerned, the aim is to genetically guarantee the product’s authenticity indicated in the label for monovarietal and multivarietal products and for blends. In this way it is possible to guarantee the authenticity of a product through an analysis before its bottling. The necessary quantity of sample is very small (millimeters) and it is not relevant. Genetic Label will issue a certification for the single bottle with an innovative anti – counterfeiting label with tag NFC which doesn’t contemplate the app employment and will track the bottle/product history thanks to a Blockchain technology.
