Orphan-1: kick off meeting
Scientists involved in seven projects of applied research focused on the diagnosis, treatment and cure of pathologies classified as orphan diseases, have been met in Siena by the Toscana Life Sciences Foundation bioincubator, to share their scientific findings, achievements and future goals.
The projects, all run in the major universities and research institutes of the Tuscan region, are co-financed by the TLS Foundation and have been selected among several submitted proposals within the context of the Orphan-1 project. Purpose of this project is to foster applied research in the field of orphan diseases and build a scientific network in order to accelerate the process of drugs discovery to sustain and improve the quality of life of many people affected by rare or neglected disorders.
